Who

Clothing of the American Mind was founded by Caitlin Blue, a Hollywood set decorator and all-around creative. As the company’s owner and director, she is also the leading mind behind Clothing of the American Mind’s clever designs. Her husband, Eric Waterman, contributes as our trusty photographer and marketing consultant. Caitlin’s business partner, Carly Miller, one of two full time staffers, is the company’s co-director, running the online business, the flagship store, COTAM’s activist endeavors and so much more. Carly’s partner, Matthew Gerbasi, is on board as the company’s second full-timer, assisting with the day-to-day operations and traveling the continent as a political activist raising awareness and funds for progressive causes.

What

Clothing of the American Mind (COTAM) is a grassroots company deeply committed to creating apparel that is environmentally safe and responsible, politically and socially conscious, sweatshop free, American made and Fair Trade. A portion of all funds collected from our clothing sales is donated directly to progressive causes and candidates fighting for issues of social and political justice. In 2006, we launched our first full 100% organic line for women, men and children. These products are the most sustainable, responsible, high quality t-shirts on the market. Clothing of the American Mind promotes activism as a way of life, encouraging the notion that anyone can be a political activist; all you have to do is get dressed! With our stylish, eco-chic designs, you can look as good as you feel knowing you are creating a dialogue, spreading a progressive message and sporting gear that is manufactured fairly. Taking Corporate Social Responsibility to the next level, Clothing of the American Mind strives to leave the lightest footprint possible on the planet.
